Collage of my work





I have taken up a 30 day marketing challenge hosted by Leslie Saeta. She is a marketer turned artist, offering daily ideas on marketing artwork. She has some great suggestions, one is to  create a collage that features your paintings. I used PikMonkey for mine or you can also use iPiccy.

These are some of my favorite paintings, I think they do show an array of subject matter. I don't like to stick to just still life’s or portraits but am interested in light and color, showing the joy intrinsic of simple moments and objects. I'm not after ground breaking ideas, I just love the process of painting and illustrating the world around me. I am representational but do not strive for photo realism. I admire people who achieve it but would never have the patience for it.

    Dear Celia - I love your art and I too appreciate those who can achieve photo realism but like you I do not have the patience either. Guess one just should always paint from the heart. I think your work shows that is what you do and in the end for me that is what I love to see. Have a great day.

Happy 2015!!

 Clementine watercolor on paper  20x14 cm.   I am very excited to start off the new year because of the opportunity to focus on what lies ahead. My  goals for the coming months include many positive wishes!  I have written out a physical list for the first time in my sketchbook  to be able to draw a balance at the end. My first painting of the year is a clementine. The contrasting colors and the long shapes of the leaves  are always fun to paint; the fruit's taste is definitively delicious and brightens the dreary winter. I wish all of you a joyful, creative year! Happy 2015!

Pansies

 Pansies with Lemon  watercolor on cold pressed Daler Rowney paper  10" x 10" / 25 x 25 cm.  Available I wished to paint the happy faces of the pansies I planted earlier in the fall. They are hardy plants, lasting through the winter on my balcony. Soon I will have to pull them out and replace them with petunias or begonias, but not for another month. I love the different shades of purple and had fun mixing my own. I hope everyone is having a nice week!
