A Call for Artists to Help

 Morning  Stream
21cm x 29,5 cm
watercolor on paper

I have donated my painting "Morning Stream" to be auctioned off (here) as a limited print. Donations will be benefiting Marilyn who has a progressive muscle disease - muscular dystrophy. Donations are needed to help fund Marilyn's "Tram" - a device  for transfers from wheelchair to bed, etc. Without it, she would need the services of a caregiver. You can read more about her story here.

Kim Tysse, Marilyn's cousin, is organizing everything through a blog in order to find a way to help achieve enough donations to help her with this purchase. She is looking for artists to donate their artwork to be offered up as prints. There is no need to send the original art, just a good file that she can make prints. Any kind of support is nevertheless welcome! If anyone would like to help Marilyn, please  send your file here .

Marilyn is someone who has always tried to help others and continues to make every effort to help herself. The needs however, are overwhelming for Marilyn. Your one donation may not solve her entire needs, but combined with others, your help can truly make a difference. This is an exciting opportunity to be a blessing to someone - and to be blessed.

It's Not Just For Guacamole

It's Not Just for Guacamole watercolor on paper 35.5x51cm.  I hope everyone's New Year is off to a great start! I started this painting last year and set it aside for a while.  I worked from a cell phone image I took while preparing breakfast. My work as it progressed, below... My favorite way to eat avocado is on toast with a poached egg, I sketched it after Christmas. It keeps me full until lunch time.

Pansies

Pansies with Lemon  watercolor on cold pressed Daler Rowney paper  10" x 10" / 25 x 25 cm.  Available I wished to paint the happy faces of the pansies I planted earlier in the fall. They are hardy plants, lasting through the winter on my balcony. Soon I will have to pull them out and replace them with petunias or begonias, but not for another month. I love the different shades of purple and had fun mixing my own. I hope everyone is having a nice week!

Parsley

Parsley watercolor on Garza Papel paper 20x14 cm. 300 grs Parsley is my favorite herb, I always keep a pot close to my kitchen. It is an interesting subject to improve leaf painting skills. I did minimal prelimanary drawing to keep the painting spontaneous. I focused on layering the shapes and observing the fresh colors in front of me.  I found parsley leaves fun to paint and instrumental in gaining more awareness and control when painting leaves! working from life is always my favorite! finding the right mix of color I can't believe this is my 100th post. Thanks for stopping by!
